1. SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST DIRECTOR: As a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist Director you would oversee and direct the operation of a speech and language department, which would offer services to children at-risk for developmental delays or with a diagnosis of autism or related disorders.  Children range in age from 12 months to 12 years.  Responsibilities would include hiring, training, and supervising qualified SLPs to provide speech and language assessments and intervention, cross training staff in speech-language pathology skills with the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), writing regular progress reports, involvement as necessary in IEP meetings, and acting as a liaison to Regional Center and LAUSD personnel.

Qualifications for this job include a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), California state license in Speech-Language Pathology, experience working with children with developmental disabilities, and excellent communication and writing skills. Other requirements include being computer literate and owning a PC or Intel Mac with Windows XP installed, no past criminal history, and a reference check.

 

2. SUPERVISING DTT CASE MANAGER: As a Supervisor, you would be helping to supervise and manage DTT programs and supportive behavior management programs for the agency’s clients. You would train and supervise Associate and Senior Consultants to implement discrete trial training and the principles of applied behavior analysis according to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Guidelines for Responsible Conduct for Behavior Analysts.  You would be directly accountable to the Clinical Director and Clinical Administrator of the Agency.  This is a full-time, salaried position.

Qualifications for this job include a Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field, a minimum of two years experience working with Autistic children and their families, knowledge of the basic principles of applied behavior analysis, excellent clinical skills (i.e., patience, empathy, and compassion) and stellar writing skills.  BCBA preferred. Other requirements include possession of a valid California driver’s license, auto insurance, good driving record, reference check, and no prior criminal history.

 

3. ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT: As an Associate Consultant, you would be helping to manage DTT programs and cases.   You would provide one-to-one behavioral intervention to children with Autism in their homes and the community.  Initially, Associate Consultants participate in a training program where you learn about Applied Behavior Analysis, discrete trial training, how to effectively manage maladaptive behaviors, and data collection. Training and supervision continue throughout your employment at the Conway Agency. This is a full or part-time (i.e., minimum 12 hours a week) position.

Qualifications for this position include enrollment in college as a senior studying psychology, child development, counseling, education, or special education.  Individuals with higher education are encouraged to apply.  You also need to be a patient individual, with empathy, enthusiasm, and enjoy spending time with children.  You need to demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with others, be organized, and work independently as well as take supervision and direction from supervisors.   Other requirements include possession of a valid California driver’s license, auto insurance, good driving record, reference check, and no prior criminal history.
